Parent Helpers Needed

Production

I am looking for some parent helpers in Term Two as we start to bring the details for production together. If you have a creative pinky finger then you are needed to help create props or costumes for our incredible production of 'Cinderella Rockerfella'.

If you can help, please email me at danielle.haines@education.vic.gov.au

Upwey High School Streeton Art Show

Congratulations to Quinn C and Max K who were both awarded second place for their age categories at the Upwey Art Show. We had more than 80 beautiful works on display for the show. Keep up the amazing work everyone!

Foundation students have been learning about colours and emotions that are often associated with them. We read "The Colour Monster" by Anna Llenas. This amazing pop up version captured the imaginations of all the students as they practiced drawing happy, sad, calm, angry and many other faces to help them decide how their monster was feeling. Students followed along the instructions to draw their own colour monster and painted it with the associated colours.

Year One and Two students have been combining shape, line and colour in an oil pastel castle drawing. This artwork focused on precision and bold colours as they try to navigate the tricky nature of drawing detail with a thick oil pastel. They included texture of building materials in their castle but with bright colours trough out the piece for a striking result.

Year Three and Four students

Year Five and Six students have been refining their shading techniques with pencil and blending stumps to create a pipe-scape drawing. This project allows students to create dimension and form in their work, while still having the opportunity to add unique details.

The USPS art captains, along with some helpers, have been undertaking a side project to add even more colour and fun into our school. We look forward to sharing progress photos with you throughout the project.
