Year 7 to Year 9
At Salvado Catholic College, our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals extends far beyond the classroom. We firmly believe in providing enriching experiences that shape our students holistically, guiding them towards becoming dynamic young people prepared for success in the ‘real world’.
Last week marked a flurry of activity as our Year 7 and Year 8 students showcased their sporting prowess at the ACC Lightning Carnivals. It was a momentous occasion where they not only bonded with their classmates but also proudly represented SCC on the field.
Simultaneously, our Year 9 cohort embarked on an unforgettable journey to Dwellingup with Adventure Works for the much-anticipated Year 9 Camp. A heartfelt appreciation goes to Ms. Anna Greene for orchestrating this expedition with precision and care. Her meticulous planning ensured that every moment was brimming with excitement and learning opportunities.
A special mention goes to our staff members whose unwavering dedication made these experiences possible. Their commitment to nurturing our students' growth beyond the confines of the classroom is truly commendable. We can’t thank enough Mr Langley Thurkle, Ms Megan Miller, Mr Luke Johns, Ms Bo Daniels and Mrs Steph Osborne for giving their time for this camp to occur.
The camp itself was a resounding success, with our young learners immersing themselves in a number of challenge-based activities. Laughter echoed through the forest as they navigated challenges and supported one another under the guidance of our dedicated group leaders. Witnessing their camaraderie amidst nature was truly heart-warming; who could forget the sight of adventurous souls plunging into freezing waters with gleeful abandon?
Furthermore, a group of Year 9 students seized the opportunity to explore the world of plumbing through a Career Taster Program at Rockingham TAFE. Thanks to Mr. Luke Johns, our Careers and VET Coordinator, for continually opening doors to such invaluable experiences. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Pat McNulty for his presence and support throughout the day.
As we reflect on these enriching experiences, we are reminded of the profound impact they have on shaping our students into confident, well-rounded individuals. Salvado Catholic College remains steadfast in its mission to provide transformative opportunities that foster growth, resilience, and a lifelong love for learning.
