Writer’s Workshop & Independent Reading

Year 1 had a great time settling into the new routines and getting to know each other. In week 1 we have been engaged in a Learning to Learn program where the students had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the resources in the room. We revisited the importance of using kind words and actions, both in the classroom and playground and began a gradual introduction to Writer’s Workshop, Independent Reading with the classroom teacher.

Auslan

This year we have included Auslan as one of our weekly lessons. In the first two weeks, students learnt to identify their dominant hand and learnt to sign the alphabets in Auslan. They are having lots of fun learning the new language.
