A brilliant start

Our Prep students have had a brilliant start, settling into the routines and expectations at North Melbourne Primary school. We were very impressed to see them coming in by themselves on Monday morning and have noticed them growing in independence in their learning as well.

Literacy

We have been learning new sounds in word study and learning how to sound out simple words. The students have been spotting sounds everywhere ever since! We can tell from children’s Home Reading books that lots of children are practising reading or listening to stories at home, which is an excellent way to encourage their love of reading.

Maths

We have been exploring the different manipulatives we can use to help support our learning by making different amounts. Working on developing a growth mindset helps us to learn from our mistakes.
