GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

This week the Bible reading focuses on the transfiguration of Jesus.  In this Bible story, some of Jesus’ disciples went to a mountain top with Jesus, where he was transfigured before them.  His clothes became a dazzling white ‘A voice came from the cloud, “This is my Son, and I love him. Listen to him!” (Mark 9:7).  This was one of the most obvious ways in which Jesus showed his disciples he really was the Son of God.

Mealtime Prayer:

For every cup and every plateful, to you, O God, we are grateful. Amen.

Prayer:

Jesus, Son of God, open our ears and our hearts so that we listen to you. Amen.

Blessing:

(Child’s name) May God’s light shine in your heart so that you know and listen to Jesus.  Amen.

LUTHERAN CARE

Did you know that Lutheran Care maintain a food pantry to help families in need?  This program is called Loaves and Fishes and they require new food donations each month.  For the month of February they are looking for donations of coffee, tea bags, sugar, long-life milk, 2 minute noodles, breakfast cereal and soap. Donations are collected through the church office or can be donated directly to Lutheran Care, 309 Prospect Road.
