Japanese
Monty linguists continue to explore language and culture!
YR3/4
In YR3/4, we've begun by revisiting colour vocabulary to refresh our memories after the holiday break. It's been delightful to see many students retaining this knowledge, which brings us great joy! Some students have actively participated in creating our class dragon, constructing sentences to describe the colours they've chosen and used. They have started learning new Japanese words around animals this week. Moving forward, we'll continue utilising this vocabulary to construct more complex sentences in Japanese.
YR5/6
In YR5/6, students explored positive adjective words in celebration of Valentine’s Day. They enthusiastically crafted their own Valentine cards, carefully selecting words to express their sentiments. Many chose to write to family members or friends, while some even extended their affection to their pets! I was particularly impressed by their meticulous and beautiful handwriting. Writing in Japanese script demands keen observation, patience, and precise control of pen or pencil movement. Their delightful sentences brought smiles to all our faces. Well done, YR5&6!
