NAPLAN

Dear Parents and Carers,

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a literacy and numeracy assessment that our young people in Years 3 and 5 sit each year. NAPLAN assesses the literacy and numeracy skills your child is already learning at school. It is important to remember that NAPLAN is not about passing or failing. It is about assessing learning progress.

The best approach for preparing your child for NAPLAN is to encourage your child to do the best they can on the day.

In 2026, NAPLAN will take place from Wednesday, 11th to Monday, 23rd March.

Here are the individual test dates for Years 3 & 5:

NAPLAN Writing: Wednesday, 11th March

NAPLAN Reading: Thursday, 12th March

NAPLAN Numeracy: Wednesday, 18th March

NAPLAN Conventions of Language: Tuesday, 17th March

If your child is absent on these days, catch-up days will be available during this period.
