Behaviour for Learning

Kylie Karvelis

Our Behaviour for Learning team works collaboratively to strengthen and embed practices that support every student’s growth. Guided by our school values, the team focuses on developing a shared language and implementing tiered interventions that help create safe, supportive environments for academic, social, spiritual and emotional development.

Together, we take a proactive approach to student wellbeing, embracing the diversity within our community. Our work centres on recognising individual and collective strengths, enhancing communication skills, and supporting students to build self regulation strategies that empower them.

The Behaviour for Learning team includes Lead Allied Health, Kylie Karvelis, Deputy Head of Campus, Mel Condon, Classroom Teacher, Jarrad Rodgers, Speech Pathologist, Jemma Dougan, and Occupational Therapist, Amber Lloyde. Each member brings valuable expertise that contributes to a holistic and consistent approach across the school.

This term, our focus is on bravery, one of our core school values. We look forward to exploring what bravery looks like in learning, relationships, and daily school life, and supporting students to recognise and celebrate brave moments—big and small. We encourage students every day to put their brave in front, acknowledging that all students have done hard things before. We support students in learning about feelings, acknowledging that all emotions are valid. When feelings become too big, we show students that together we can make those feelings smaller and more manageable. By building these skills, students practice putting their brave in front and giving new things a go. We look forward to sharing our journey with you via seesaw and the newsletter.
