Homegroup

What we are learning:

In the upcoming weeks, Years 9-10 Homegroup will receive a presentation from Consent Labs on consent and the law. Students will gain an understanding of consent, the sharing of explicit images and the law. Year 10 students will continue with this theme, delving into consent in more detail throughout their Homegroup classes. These are extremely important lessons, and we ask that all students attend with maturity and respect.

Year 7’s will be focusing on emotional literacy for the remainder of the term. This will help them develop the language skills needed to understand their own emotions and those of others.

Lastly, Year 8 will be focusing on personal and cultural strengths. They will learn to identify the values and strengths they have learnt from role models within their families and culture, and to think about how this guidance helps them treat others with respect. They will consider how to draw on these strengths to engage with the challenges and opportunities that life presents.

Students are required to use their planners across classes, particularly in Homegroup, where they continue to learn how to use them as stress-reduction tools. Students have all received their first hurdle task: an annotated copy of their planner. The task can be found on Compass.

Homegroup teachers

While Homegroup is now held once a week instead of daily, your child’s Homegroup teacher remains the best first point of contact for any concerns, uniform notes and upcoming absences.

You can find their contact information on Compass by going to the Homegroup lesson and then 'email teacher'.
