Year 12

Year 12 Make a Splash at the 2026 Swimming Carnival

The Year 12 cohort has had a busy and exciting start to the school year. A clear highlight of the term has been the recent annual Swimming Carnival, a day that Year 12 students look forward to each year. In true fashion, students embraced the fun of the day by dressing up as characters from their favourite films.

The carnival was filled with energy and House spirit, with students enjoying a sausage in bread prepared by our VCE VM students before taking to the pool. From superheroes to iconic on-screen personalities, the creative costumes added to the vibrant atmosphere as students competed in events, relays and novelty races. The cheers, laughter and colourful displays of House pride made for an unforgettable day.

Beyond the friendly competition, the event provided an opportunity for students to connect and create lasting memories with their peers as they begin their final year of schooling.

Students have also recently been allocated a mentor for the year and will have the opportunity to participate in and engage with the Year 12 Mentor Program. This program provides valuable academic and wellbeing support as students navigate the challenges of their final year. As the year progresses, we look forward to supporting our Year 12 cohort and celebrating many more memorable moments throughout 2026.

GAT 2026 – Supervisors Required

On Tuesday 16 June, our Year 12 students and those undertaking Unit 3 and 4 subjects will sit the General Achievement Test (GAT), administered by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. The GAT plays an important role in supporting fair and accurate assessment in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).

To ensure the smooth running of the day, we are seeking community members to act as GAT supervisors.

Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Monitoring students during the test
  • Ensuring examination conditions are maintained
  • Following VCAA guidelines and procedures

No prior experience is necessary, and full instructions will be provided on the day.

Supervisors must not have a child sitting the GAT in 2026 and will be required to hold (or obtain) a valid Working With Children Check.

This is a paid role and a wonderful way to support our senior students during an important milestone in their VCE journey.

If you are available and interested, please contact Jesse Nugent by email at jesse.nugent@education.vic.gov.au

Thank you for supporting our students and our school community.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the Year 12 Team.
