Ryan's Rambling

Dear Families,

It has been a busy, yet productive week here at Dana Street. Thank you to all our wonderful families who continue to support our amazing school, day in day out.

Our annual Meet the Teacher was a wonderful event with almost all of our families making the time to meet with staff. I know that I had a fun afternoon with the Grade 5 students! Our staff have reported an overwhelmingly positive experience with parents eager to partner in their child’s learning and wellbeing across the year. Please know that our staff are an incredible bunch of professionals, who will always endeavour to do their very best to support our students. Feel free to reach out to the any time.

I am pleased to announce the following students have been duly elected as House Captains for 2026.

Dunne House: Finn M. and Molly B.

Baker House: Aggie W. and Zephyr R.

Spielvogel House: Archie S. and Daisy C.

Martin House: Paddy D. and Greta C.

Yesterday, our House Captains joined our School Captains, Miss Kylie and myself for a fun day of Leadership training. Each one of them took to the difficult task of identifying Leadership traits that they have particular strength in, as well as areas to work on into the future. Our annual Leadership Investiture will be held on the 12th of March, where students will have their badges presented to them.

I wanted to that all our community for their incredible support this week after we needed to place the school into lockdown. Our staff should be commended about the way that they responded to the needs of our children and followed our well-rehearsed emergency management drills. Again, if you believe that your child has been affected by the lockdown, please contact us at school so we can put further supports in place.

Today marks my final day at Dana Street for the year. I am looking forward to supporting the school from afar during my secondment and then returning in 2027. I wish you all the best for a wonderful year and I leave the school in great hands with our amazing staff.

Have a great weekend

Ryan
