Advent Prayer Liturgy - 3rd Sunday of Advent

Advent Liturgy

This morning, we shared our final Advent Liturgy for the whole school community which was led by the students in Year 5/6.  We lit the pink candle on the Advent wreath, the third candle, representing 'Joy'.  The students shared the stories of the shepherds, who were visited by an angel and declared, "I bring you good news of great joy!" Jesus was to be born soon, as our Saviour.

As students shared the meaning behind the Christmas Symbols, they were carefully placed on our St John's Jesse Tree in the MacKillop space. We reminded the school community that every symbol on the tree, represented a story or person from the very beginning to the end of the biblical stories. Everything happened just as it should have and it was all a part of God's plan, leading to the birth of Jesus our Saviour.  We give thanks to the courage all these important ancestors of Jesus who had faith and were brave to accept God's calling in their lives.

Advent Children's Packs

Advent/Christmas packs for children are available after all Masses this weekend at St John's Parish Church. Please feel free to take one per family. They are available at all exits from the Church.

Children’s Christmas Eve Nativity Mass

The 4.30pm Mass on Christmas Eve will be a children’s Mass. We will begin at 4.15pm with a Christmas Nativity Tableau. We invite all children attending to come dressed as shepherds, angels, stars or anything representing the Nativity as all children will be invited to be a part of our Nativity Tableau. We require some children and parents to take on some of the lead roles during the Tableau and Mass. If you and your children will be attending this Mass and are willing to be involved, please text or call Diane on 0418 128 408 or Jenny on 0413 826 468.
