CHAPLAINCY AND BICCYS OP SHOP
Raising Awareness for Mens Health
In term 4 some members of the BSC Chaplaincy Committee visited BICCYS Opportunity Shop, Bruce Seamer (Chairman) and Katie McKillop (College Chaplain) met with Hazel Wilson who manages the shop, to offer our gratitude and thank her and her team for their kind donations to Brighton Secondary College Chaplaincy and Wellbeing. BICCYS has been a long-term support of Chaplaincy at Brighton Secondary, providing funding since 1969! Hazel was very grateful for the visit and to meet our new Chaplain.
The work of Chaplaincy continues to permeate the school community in the areas of student wellbeing support, mental health intervention, Year 7 resiliency and transition program facilitation, Year 10 Peer Support training, Year 8 and Year 10 Raise Mentoring program coordination and overall pastoral care for the school community.
Please note, if you have any clothing items you would like to donate to BICCYS Op shop, please feel free to donate them to our Student Wellbeing Team, who will deliver them to BICCYS.
Also, if any students are interested in volunteering opportunities at BICCYS, please talk to Katie McKillop who can connect you with Hazel at BICCYS, this would be a great addition to any resume. And if you have time especially over the holiday period feel free to pop in and visit BICCYS on Church Street, Brighton, to find some treasures and say hello!
