LES TWENTYMAN GIFT DRIVE

A GREAT CAUSE SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE

On Wednesday a few of our student leaders volunteered at the LesTwentyMan Foundation in Footscray.

The LesTwentyMan foundation is a foundation that helps under privileged youth in Melbourne. Founded by a legendary youth worker- Les Twentyman. They have a history of more than 30 years supporting at-risk youth and believes that every child and young person, regardless of economic circumstances, race or gender deserves an equal opportunity in life.

Our student leaders helped with packing pencil cases and books for the Back to School Program- Since 1989, the Back to School Program has helped over 20,000 students stay in education. The program has provided educational resources, textbooks, stationery, laptops, scientific calculators and more to students and their families. Back to School provides students with the educational resources they need for the school year, including textbooks and stationery.

With the help of the following volunteers: Isabella Kryebel, Mason Hancox, Vanshika Jagrut Thakkar, Sienna Davis, Grace Garland, Henry Fletcher and Sienna Harel and our lovely teachers Ms. Tsimbis and Mr. Hutchins, we packed around 500 back to school packs!

Thank you to everybody that came along and volunteered, there generosity and kindness is greatly appreciated. We will have more events next year partnering with the LesTwentyMan foundation so we hope more students will get involved.

The LesTwentyMan Foundation is striving to help underprivileged youth during Christmas time. For hundreds of children in Melbourne, Christmas Day will be a day of sadness. Poverty and financial disadvantage results in many parents unable to provide a gift for their child.

We thank you all for your generosity and compassion, our BSC community came together and donated a huge amount of gifts which will help make a positive impact on young people this holiday season.

Thank you and happy holidays!
