Base Furniture allocation for Classroom.
Classrooms can become very cluttered and can pose OHS risks if there is not easy egress from the room if there is too much furniture. Consequently, the school has a set allocation of standard items in each classroom.
As per Frances' list there is one teacher desk and one teacher chair per classroom. There are also 3 staff working stools per class room. There is one table per two students plus two additional tables for ICT equipment. One chair per student is allocated.
The small rooms off classrooms are to provide an alternative quiet student working space when needed. These are not to be set up as a staff office.
There have been requests for additional staff furniture e.g. extra teacher desk, that can't be accommodated. Please check the list sent out by Frances - Facilities Manager.
Yaluk - URGENT
The two white covers for the hearing augmentation devices on the walls of the gym have been removed. Who ever knows there the covers are or what happened to them could you please contact Denise immediately.
Defects: Most of the defects in the Yaluk building have now been rectified. The defects period is expiring at the end of term 1 2025. If there are any defects you notice, please bring them to Denise's attention ASAP so they can be fixed by the builder before the end of Term 1 2025.
Schools Emergency Maintenance Program
The tiny sinkhole in the bus loop has finally been assessed and a plan to repair has been developed. The investigation of the sink hole found that there many breaks in the storm water and sewer drains that run through the bus loop and parents' carpark. Theses drains both need replacing which needs excavating the bus loop and the carpark. The contractors have been employed and startup meeting for the project is this week. The work will begin Friday 20 December @1:30pm and be close to being finished before we come back in January 2025. The current handover date for the parent carpark is February 21, 2025. This will be confirmed in late January 2025. Parents will be notified in a hand out, the next newsletter & via JSA Facebook page of the change in pick up & drop off points for the affected students.
