Farewell

We have a number of staff members leaving the GPS team at the end of the year. We wish them all the very best and thank them for their service to our school:

 

Jenny Nicholls

Jenny has been a dedicated member of our staff for the past 30 years. In her role as an SSO, she has supported in the classroom, front office, and primarily in the library. Her versatility and dedication to every role she has taken on has made a lasting impact. We have been incredibly fortunate to have Jenny’s long-standing commitment to our school, which speaks to her passion for supporting both students and staff. Her warmth, reliability, and wealth of experience have made her an irreplaceable presence in our school community. We thank Jenny for her many years of service and wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.

 

Sue Holland

Sue has been an invaluable part of our school community for the past 21 years. As a dedicated SSO, she has been a noticeable part of the library team. In addition to her work in the library, Sue has also contributed to the Grasshoppers program and helped run the uniform shop, ensuring that students and families have what they needed.  Sue’s dedication, reliability, and kindness have been felt throughout the community. Her quiet, steady presence and commitment over the years have made her an essential and cherished part of our school. Sue will be greatly missed but we know she will enjoy her retirement surrounded by her family. 

 

Pamela Kelly

Pamela joined the GPS staff team at the beginning of term three this year as Acting Deputy Principal. During this time, she has made a very positive contribution to our school community and we are very grateful to Pamela for all she has done in a short amount of time. We wish Pamela all the very best as she begins her next adventure as Deputy Principal of Angle Vale Primary School.

 

Chelsea McClintock

We thank Chelsea for her three years’ service at GPS and wish her all the best as she takes up a teaching position at Parkside Primary School next year.

 

Katie Hoppo

We thank Katie for her two years’ service at GPS and wish her all the best for her future ventures.

 

Nour Hatem

We thank Nour for serving our school community during 2024 and wish her all the best as she begins a teaching role at Pinnacle College next year.

 

Luana Calo

We thank Luana for serving our school community during 2024 and wish her all the best for the next chapter as a teacher.

 

Abbie Van Pamelen

Abbie has been an integral part of our literacy journey in the Early Years supporting teachers and SSOs over the last 6 years. Abbie provided valuable guidance and support, building teachers knowledge and understanding of effective, evidence-based literacy practices. She equipped teachers with research-based tools and strategies helping them implement best practices to enhance student learning in literacy. 

 

Abbie has lead professional learning sessions for both teachers and SSOs and has facilitated workshops for parents, providing them with insights into how children learn to read and how they can support their child's literacy development at home.

Mark Collier

We thank Mark for his service to our school this year and wish him all the best as he begins a teaching role at Kingston (SE) Community School next year.

 

Mel Stanley

We thank Mel for her three years’ service to our school and wish her all the best as she begins a new role at Rostrevor College next year. Mel has been a great asset to our school community and has coordinated numerous successful initiatives during her time at GPS.

 

Amelia Mathews

We thank Amelia for her service and care for our students this year and wish her all the best for the future, as she begins her university studies.
