Book Week Parade – Symphony of Stories
What an amazing morning/day we have had celebrating Book Week with our annual Book Week Parade! It was fantastic to see so many creative, colourful and imaginative characters come to life, with students proudly showing off costumes inspired by some of their favourite books.
A huge thank you to all our parents and carers for supporting the children with their wonderful costumes - we know there was plenty of creativity and effort happening at home!
A big thank you to all our staff to have coordinated our Book Week celebrations for our students throughout the day.
A wonderful way to finish Book Week 2026 and celebrate this year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories.”
School Uniform Update
Following a recent review of our school uniform, School Council has made the decision to update our school uniform and in doing so, move to Noone as our new school uniform supplier.
We are currently working with Noone on some updates to the materials and design of our uniform, with the aim of having the new range available by the end of this year. Our school colours will remain the same, our logo will remain the same, with only some minor changes to the design, materials and overall look of particular items.
Importantly, this will be a gradual transition over the next two years. There will be no expectation for families to immediately purchase new uniform items, and students can continue to wear their existing Anglesea Primary School uniform throughout the transition period.
We know that changing uniforms can be an additional expense for families, so our priority is to make the changeover as simple and affordable as possible.
We look forward to sharing the new uniform range, along with information about ordering and availability, with families later this year.
Industrial Action
Thank you to all our families for your understanding and support during the recent industrial action.
The AEU has now reached an ‘in-principle agreement’, resulting in the immediate suspension of planned stop-work action. AEU members will now have the opportunity to vote on whether to accept the proposed agreement.
Should the agreement be endorsed, it is anticipated that the new working conditions and associated arrangements will begin to be implemented later this year.
We will continue to keep families informed of any updates and any potential impacts on the operation of Anglesea Primary School.
Influenza and Illness
Unfortunately, we have had a number of students and staff impacted by influenza and other illnesses recently. We ask families to please keep children at home if they are unwell or displaying flu-like symptoms.
Good hygiene practices, including regular handwashing and covering coughs and sneezes, are also important in helping to reduce the spread of illness across our school community.
Thank you for your support in helping keep everyone at Anglesea Primary School healthy and well.
Riverbank Markets – Volunteers Needed
Our Riverbank Markets are just around the corner, and we're once again looking for volunteers to help make these fantastic community events a success.
Each year, the Riverbank Markets generate over $30,000 for Anglesea Primary School. These funds directly support our students through improvements to programs, resources and facilities, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of our school community.
This year we've made a small change to how the volunteer roster will operate. In previous years, we rostered two families per timeslot, however the feedback we received was that this sometimes created confusion during handovers and important information could be missed.
To provide greater consistency, a member of our school staff will now be on site throughout the entire day, with one family volunteering per timeslot. This means we've halved the number of families required while ensuring every volunteer has support throughout their shift. The responsibilities for each timeslot remain the same, but you'll have a staff member there to assist and answer any questions.
You'll find the Markets Roster on the dedicated page in this newsletter. As families nominate for a timeslot, the roster will be updated so you can see what is still available.
If you have some availability across our three Riverbank Markets, we would greatly appreciate you volunteering for just one timeslot. Every contribution makes a significant difference and helps ensure these important fundraising events continue to be such a success.
