Uniform Policy Update
Dear families,
There has been a slight change to the school's uniform policy regarding watches. For students with watches that have phone-like capabilities, JP students are required to hand them to their teacher upon arrival, while SP students must keep them securely stored in their bags throughout the school day.
Thank you.
Emergency Contacts
Are your details up to date? Please take the time to log in to the Parent Lounge and check/update your details, especially emergency contacts. In an emergency, if we are unable to get in contact with you, your emergency contact/s will be called.
Thank you
School Absences
Please don't forget, if your child is going to be absent from school you will need to notify both their classroom teacher and the front office. This can be done via email. The front office email is: admin@gspv.sa.edu.au
Book Week 2024 - Save the date!
"Reading is Magic"
We are very excited to be celebrating Children’s Book Week this year. Our Book Week Parade will be happening on Thursday week 5, the 22nd of August at 8.45-9.15am.
Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. If students are dressing up, we ask that they also have a copy of the book that their character appears in, or a copy of the front cover of the book will also be accepted.
Please note, we do not expect you to spend a lot of money on costumes. Get creative, using items that you may already have, or try your local op shop. You can also find some great simple ideas online at sites like Pinterest.
There will also be a designated area for parents to come and watch if you are able.
Keep your eye out for other special Book Week events and activities in the weeks to come!
Scholastic Book Club
Scholastic Book Club Issue 5 catalogues have been sent home with students this week.
Scholastic apps are available to download for both Apple and Android devices to make ordering through the Loop system easier.
There is the option to mark your purchases as GIFTS. When these books arrive you will be contacted directly, rather than books going home with students.
Please also note that some titles offered, differ from the Christian ethos followed by the school.
Orders need to be placed via LOOP by Thursday 1st August 2024.
Happy Reading Everyone!

Father's Day Stall
Hello School Community,
Father's Day Stall is coming up quick, happening in Week 6 of this term!
There's a couple of things we'd like to communicate at this point, particularly regarding the changes of when the stall is happening compared to previously:
* The DATES for Father’s Day Stall will be
WED 28th 11.05am – 2.55pm (with a lunch break) and
THURS 29th August 8.50am – 2.55pm (with recess and lunch break).
*ASKING FOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS!
Please take note of these changes to the dates if you intend to volunteer at the stall.
Please take note of the volunteer form attached here and keep an eye out for this note that will come home in Week 2 to be returned to the front office.
* DONATION OF HOMEMADE GIFTS!
We would love the parent community to be involved again by donating homemade gifts for the Stall. We had such beautiful gifts donated for the Mother’s day stall and were very grateful for this.
We are asking for and looking forward to donations now for the Father's Day Stall. Please deliver them to the front office for pickup and be in contact with one of the team members if you can so we are aware of what's been donated.
Thank You all,
Father's Day Team

Step Up to Communion
Young people aged around 10 years, together with their parents/caregivers, are invited to take part in our Step Up program to prepare for Holy Communion. Taking the approach that parents/ carers are the primary faith developer in their children, Step Up is designed to support parents/carers in preparing their child for Holy Communion.
This course begins next week and will be offered over 4 consecutive Friday nights (August 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd). The actual Step Up service will take place on August 25th at 10.30 am. If you are interested, please contact Georgie by tomorrow (July 26th).
Look forward to hearing from you.
