Their Care- Out of School Hours Care Program

The program at OSHC the last couple of weeks has focused on creating a space that the children feel connected and ownership over.  Creating colorful areas and displaying their beautiful art works has transformed our room into a wonderland for learning.  We have been having so much FUN getting creative. A few works of art that have been created are our indigenous learning display, where the kids have made dot inspired artworks and indigenous flags. We are also focused on belonging and connection where we have made 'get to know me rainbows' and they have totally boosted our knowledge of one another plus they look really pretty.

Our staffing structure for Semester Two is detailed below: 

Permanent educators - Lily, Harry

Holiday program coordinators- Lily & Denise (coordinator at Ferny creek Primary school) 

Harry is on leave for all of august doing is final teaching placement. We are proud of you Harry. 

Staffing arrangement often change due to the needs for the service and growing numbers, there will be some new faces, but we understand consistency is important in building connections and creating a strong sense of wellbeing for our children. 

Pupil free day/ curriculum days 9th of august 

Curriculum days: 7 am - 6:30pm 

While school is closed for the teacher to plan amazing things, we are open! Book your kids in now for our epic and awesome pupil free day.  We provide breakfast and afternoon tea just like on holiday program. On the menu will be hot potato chips, veggies and a fruit platter. 

We will have a range of activities available such as:

Before and After School Care

Before-School Care and After-School Care is available each weekday, with the following hours of operation: 

• Before School Care: 7:00am – 8:45am
• After School Care: 3:30pm – 6:30pm

Foundation students- Term Three update to be aware of for student collection

From the commencement of Term Three, we have begun transitioning our Foundation students to move independently from their classrooms to after school care. They have been doing great!  

Please ensure you tell your child and/or their classroom teacher about your booking days. If necessary, we suggest tying something to the bag to remind them, we have some key chains available if needed.  

We look forward to seeing our Foundation students grow in their confidence to move to and from the service ready for when they are in Grade One. 

School term breaks (holiday) care is available each weekday (with the exception of public holidays), with the following hours of operation: 

• Holiday Program: 7:00am – 6:30pm

We had the most amazing time at holiday program. The movie was thrilling's along with roller-skating which kept us on our toes. We had big belly laughs at the puppet show and came back to make our own. The dinosaur dig was messy but the children loved smashing their eggs to see what magic was hidden inside. The rain kept us inside some days but didnt stop us from playing games such as uno and dodge ball, just to name a few.  

Personally, my favorite day was when we got a taste of celebrating the Olympics and we had funny races in the gym such as three-legged, wheelbarrow and crab walking. We also made some pretty special glittery medals to take home with us. 

I cannot wait to see what next holidays have install for us!
