Mazenod Junior Basketball Club

𝗠𝗝𝗕𝗖 𝘃𝘀 𝗠𝗢𝗕

On Saturday 22 June a large crowd of students, parents and old boys gathered in the gym for an afternoon of basketball between the Old Boys and players from the Mazenod College Basketball Club. This annual event is held in the memory of Old Boy, Mitchell Delle Coste, who passed away in 2018.

 

There were two games played, the first for fun and the second the all-important decider. Both were played with great spirit and banter, a testament to Mitchell’s memory. The games were competitive but in the end the experience and craftiness of the Old Boys prevailed, securing them the win and the Mitchell Delle Coste trophy. 

 

Congratulations to Year 11, Kano K, for taking out the student MVP and to Matthew Alexander, the winner of the Old Boys MVP.

 

Thank you to Mitchell’s parents, Danny and Kym, for joining us and presenting the trophy in Mitchell’s name.

 

Thanks also to the Old Boys and MJBC for organising the event, particularly Mr Ross Websdale, Mr Brett Scarey (MJBC President) Mr Matthew Alexander and Mr John Keogh (MOB President).

Mouthguards

Mouthguards are optional, but we highly recommend that they are used during the games and also during training.

You should only communicate with Tyson Lumbaca from KDBA tyson.lumbaca@sunsbasketball.com.au if you have to forfeit a game (cc’ registrar1.mjbc@gmail.com).
