Important Information

Green Fees are $30 per person for adults and $25 per student, to be paid on the day.

Children in Year 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Please read below for the event rules:

1. This is an Ambrose event.

2. Tee off from blue tees.

3. Each player must have 3 of their drives used as the group’s best shot.

4. If the chosen ball is off the fairway/ in a bunker/ off the green, then the next shot must be played off the fairway/ in the bunker/ off the green.

5. Handicaps: At the end of the game, we choose 6 holes at random and use these to create a ‘handicap’ for each group based on the group’s score over these 6 holes. Each group’s net score is then calculated: Net score = raw score – handicap.  There is a nominal prize “The Socks Prize” in recognition of the best raw score of the day. There are also prizes for the nearest to the pin, which is holes 4 and 12, and the longest drive on hole 18.

6. Please ensure you dress in accordance with Hillview Golf Course’s dress code - tucked in a collared shirt (polo fine), trousers or dress shorts (no denim) and closed-in shoes.

Footy Tipping Competition

Round 19 Winners

Round 19 proved pretty difficult for most people with four people doing extremely well and picking eight winners and a further 19 people picking seven winners. Of those that picked eight winners, Aleck Arena (Class of 2020) was closest to the margin in Adelaide’s upset win over Essendon and as such is this week’s winner of the $50.  Congratulations Aleck (on top of your win in Round 15).

With regard to the overall leaderboard, Santino Giancono had another great week and is now three clear on 117, Matt Sinclair (Class of 1983) is second on 114 and Cherie Fry is in third place on 113.

Round 20

Carlton v Port Adelaide

2nd v 7th and only four points separating these sides.  In the last 10 years, these teams have only played three times at Marvel Stadium with Port’s only win being in 2014.  Carlton will be coming off a five-day break;

North Melbourne v Geelong

This match is being played in Tasmania but given Geelong has won the last two games played between these sides at Blundstone Arena, I’m not sure that is much of a factor;

Gold Coast v Brisbane – Gold Coast has yet to lose at home this season, but Brisbane has won four of the last five games between these sides played on the Gold Coast and has won seven games in a row;

St Kilda v Essendon

Essendon are hanging onto a spot in the eighth despite losing three of their last four games.  Essendon simply cannot afford to lose if they want to make finals this year;

Melbourne v GWS

Max Gawn is likely to be back which will certainly improve Melbourne’s chances.  These teams have met four times at the MCG since 2018 with honours even at 2-2. GWS has won three in a row and is looking to get into the top four;

Fremantle v West Coast

Fremantle has won five of the last six games played between these sides at Optus Stadium and will most likely win this game also;

Collingwood v Richmond

13th v 18th how the mighty have fallen;

Sydney v Western Bulldogs

These teams have met six times at the SCG since 2015 with honours even at 3-3.  Sydney has lost three of its last four games and picked up a few injuries on the weekend.  The Bulldogs have won four of their last five games and are making a charge towards the finals; and

Adelaide v Hawthorn

These sides are both in pretty good form right now but have not played each other at the Adelaide Oval since 2020.  Between 2014 and 2020 they played each other five times at the Adelaide Oval with Hawthorn holding a 4-1 advantage.

Please note that as we use the FootyTips website to host our competition we are compelled to adhere to the rules of that website. These rules are available on the website but a couple that are worth drawing to your attention are:

1: If you fail to enter any tips for the round you will be allocated all away teams but the maximum default score for the round will be capped at 5; and

2: If you don’t submit a tip (or a margin) for the nominated game of the week you will be allocated the away team and a margin of zero.

Good Luck and thanks for the support.
