Interfiling 📚

We're already into week 4 of Term 3 and there is just so much happening around our wonderful dual campus College!

You may have noticed a lot of book shuffling going on between both libraries. This is due to the interfiling process that is underway. What is interfiling, you ask? Well great question! Interfiling is the process in which books of all genres are combined and sorted only by letter code classification. This means that you will see all of the genre stickers mixed within the shelves and finding the books you require shall be easy as you will only have to search using alphabetical classification. It is a BIG task but our amazing library team have been working tirelessly to set out both of our wonderful library spaces to create this newly organised shelving situation for all of our literary visitors.

National Science Week🔬

National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of all aspects of science and technology. It runs each year in August and is broadcasted with events at schools, libraries, universities, museums and research centres. As always, we love to promote our specialised school subjects, and alongside the awesome activities that were delivered by the College Science Team, we have been acknowledging the importance of this event with displays.

International Friendship Day 💛

In 2011, the UN declared July 30 as International Friendship Day. Celebrations of friendship are held across Australia (and around the world)  to mark this special day each year. The UN felt that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals could be a source of inspiration. As kindliness and acceptance are values we promote at our school, of course this is an event that we celebrate. At Kildare Campus, some of our wonderful students created a display to showcase what friendship means to them. Come down to the Kildare Library to check out this gorgeous display of friendship and togetherness!

Ready… Set… READ!!! 🏅

With the 2024 Paris Olympics well underway, the hype and excitement has been noticed amongst our students- borrowing out biographical books from our ‘True Stories’ collections to read and learn more about the athletes that inspire them.

We encourage all students to come and chat to our library staff if there are any particular books they would like to see available in our collections, and always use the library catalogue to see what we have, as we are happy to shuffle books between campuses if a chosen book is located elsewhere.

That’s all from us. Wishing everyone a wonderful fortnight ahead and, of course, keep on reading!
