2024 NAPLAN Results

We are proud to share that our Year 9 students have shown some incredible results in the recent NAPLAN assessment. 

This is a testament to the hard work from these amazing young people, their teachers and families. It is also emblematic of our motto to embrace challenge and achieve excellence. 

The NAPLAN assessment see that student results are categorised into four areas: exceeding, strong, developing and needs additional support. Two particular highlights are our writing and numeracy results.

VCE Assembly

On Monday 19th August the senior school held an assembly to recognise and celebrate students who excelled in their Unit 1 and Unit 3 studies, VET and work placements. 

VCE students who achieved 80% on every assessment for one or more subjects were acknowledged, as we VCE-VM students with a 95+ completion rate of school, work and community-based tasks.

Shout out to Stella M for her achievements in both VM and VCE subjects, Kristen MCC and Mia B for achieving 80% in all SACs in all FOUR subjects!

This was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our senior students who continue to embrace challenge within their learning and achieve excellence.

Year 12 Trial English Exam 

STRIVE: 

We are proud of our Year 12 students this afternoon who embraced the challenge of sitting a mid year English trial exam in order to achieve success in their November end of year exams. 

Students will receive feedback on these exams by an external, experienced VCE marker in the coming weeks.

Well done Year 12s and best of luck with your final term of school based assessments!

Grade 5 Science Day 

Our annual Grade 5 Science Day is an event we always look forward to, and the 7th August we welcomed students from Torquay College, Torquay Coast, Moriac and Bellbrae to experience a day full of science and exploration. 

Whether you were inspired to follow a career in STEM or simply loved the experiments, we hope you enjoyed your time at SCSC.
