Introducing the new Chaplain
Jacob joined us at the beginning of Term 3 as the new PVCC Chaplain, returning after graduating from PVCC in 2013.
He recently completed a Bachelor of Theology through Whitley College, and has spent the last five and a half years as part of the pastoral team at Diamond Valley Baptist Church, overseeing Youth and Young Adult Ministries, which he will continue on a part-time basis. Prior to that, he volunteered in Youth Ministry at DVBC for five years, and currently volunteers coordinating and helping run events and camps with North Eastern Worship Collective, and Baptist Camping Victoria.
Jacob is passionate about creating communities that offer a sense of belonging, particularly to those who may be on the fringes, and building up those who are a part of them in faith and character. He is equally passionate about nurturing followers of Jesus to live day to day in light of knowing who Jesus is, and to follow the directive given in Micah 6:8 - to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with the Lord our God.
Jacob is settling well, and is eager to meet and get to know students and staff as Term 3 gets underway.
