Principal Team Message

Nicola Smith & Emily Harvey

Hello BRPS Community,

Parent/carer Survey

Thank you to all the families who participated in the department's Parent/Carer Opinion Survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand the areas where we are excelling and those that require further attention. We look forward to sharing the results with you in the coming weeks. Thank you once again for your participation and for being an integral part of our school community.

Rasing children in the digital world - workshop for parents/carers

Given some of the recent challenges some of our students have been facing with online communication, we highly recommend parents/carers attend this upcoming session, organised in collaboration with Sandringham Primary School. The suggested tips are practical and realistic, and allow us to work together as a wider community to contribute to an online environment that is safe and respectful.

Session: Raising Kids in a Digital World

Delivery: Onsite Presentation Sandringham Primary Venue: Sandringham Primary School

Presenters: Inform and Empower

Date: 12 September, 2024

Time: 7pm (90 mins)

Please register to attend on this link: bit.ly/12sept24

If you are unable to attend on the night, the session will be recorded and distributed to families.

Family holidays and learning

Please note that taking holidays during term time is not endorsed or recommended by the school or the Department of Education. Extended holidays must be approved by the principal and will be entered as 'parent/carer choice - extended family holiday' in our system.

There is no requirement for teaching staff to provide additional learning for students when on extended family holidays, and it may affect the teacher's ability to accurately assess and grade your child in certain subject areas for the semester.

For further information from the Department, please see https://www.vic.gov.au/attendance-and-missing-school.

Reminders

Photography/Filming Insight Survey via Compass

Thank you to all families that have completed the survey via Compass around photography and filming. For those families that have not completed this as yet we would really appreciate you completing this to support the teachers, especially when sharing their fortnightly updates to showcase the exciting learning that is taking place inside and outside the classroom. Remember: It needs to be completed for each child in your family.

Using the bike shed

Just a reminder that the bike shed has reopened this term. Please encourage your child to put their bike in the bike shed each morning if they ride to school. This not only keeps bikes safe, but ensures there's no congestion along the fence so that we're meeting our Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

It's hat season!

The weather is warming up, and it is now an expectation that your child brings a wide-brimmed school approved sun hat to school each day. Teachers will be actively monitoring this in the playground and students without a hat will be required to miss out on playtime and sit in the shade.

We also encourage students to put sunscreen on each morning, and bring it in their bag to reapply throughout the day.

2025 Foundation Enrolments

2025 Foundation enrolments are still open. If you are aware of any families that are seeking a school for next year please direct them to our website for information about these events and the enrolment process.

SIBLING ENROLMENTS

Sibling enrolments are now open, please contact the office for enrolment forms.

Enrolments were due by Friday 26th July

Intentions for 2025

If you are intending on leaving our school community in 2024 or 2025 due to relocation or any other reason could please advise us as soon as possible via the front office. For future planning purposes, we will be submitting an enrolment projection for 2025 to the Department of Education and Training this week, so such advice would be really helpful!

We hope you have a wonderful month ahead!
