Celebrating Positive Behaviour at Berwick Chase Primary School
Dear Families,
We are thrilled to share the fantastic progress of our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program here at Berwick Chase Primary School. This initiative has already made a noticeable impact across our classrooms and playgrounds, helping to build a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience — our three core school values.
The program focuses on recognising and rewarding positive behaviours, with all staff actively looking for moments when students demonstrate our values in action. Whether it’s helping a classmate, showing persistence with a learning challenge, or taking care of our shared spaces, every positive choice matters.
Students earn tokens when their behaviour reflects our values. They can set personal goals, aiming for 20, 40, or 60 tokens, with exciting classroom rewards available when they reach their target. Beyond individual achievements, there’s a real sense of collective pride as we also work towards a whole-school reward system.
Each token contributes to a school-wide tally, and when we reach our goal, the entire school community will celebrate together — with our first major reward being a Free Dress Day!

The response so far has been incredible. In just the first two weeks of implementation, over 2,400 positive behaviours have been recognised and rewarded! This wonderful milestone highlights not only the enthusiasm of our students but also the commitment of our staff in reinforcing what makes Berwick Chase such a caring and connected community.
SWPBS is more than a token system — it’s about building lasting habits of kindness, perseverance, and accountability. We are so proud of how our students are embracing this program and living our values every day. Go Chase!
Warm Regards,
Christ Short
Principal
