From Our Students

Swimming Week!
What a fantastic week we’ve had splashing, kicking, and gliding through the pool! During Swimming Week, our students worked hard to build their confidence in the water, learn important safety skills, and improve their swimming techniques. It’s been wonderful to see so many smiling faces and brave new swimmers giving their best effort each day. A big thank-you to our teachers, instructors, and parent helpers for making this week such a success. Well done, everyone!
Foundation
This term, our Foundation students have been exploring the world around us — learning about the continents, how we connect to our community, and the places that are special to us. It has been wonderful to see so many students showing curiosity, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing their growing knowledge about the world!
We especially loved hearing students talk about the places that are special to them and explain why those places mean so much. It was also great to see student share about places in the community they feel like they belong - like sporting groups, church, local attractions and so many more places!
Juniors
This term, our junior students have been exploring the world around us and investigating how things have changed over time. As part of our inquiry into the past and the present, the students looked closely at how people used to communicate, travel, work, and live many years ago.
Through discussions, hands-on activities, and research, the students discovered just how different life was in the past compared to today. Our students showed great curiosity and enthusiasm as they compared the past and present. They asked thoughtful questions, shared personal stories from their families, and made wonderful connections to their own lives. It was fantastic to see everyone demonstrating our school value of Excellence - showing persistence, creativity, and pride in their learning.
Middles
Our Middle School students have been immersing themselves in a research project on Natural Australian Biomes. This term, they have explored the characteristics, climates, plant and animal life, and geographical locations of some of Australia’s most fascinating environments.
The biomes under investigation include Aquatic Biomes, Coniferous Forest Biomes, Deciduous F
orest Biomes, Desert Biomes, Grassland Biomes, and Rainforest Biomes. Students have been busy researching how these biomes support different ecosystems, the ways living things adapt to their surroundings, and the importance of protecting these natural habitats.
It has been great to see our Middle School learners so engaged in their studies — asking thoughtful questions, collaborating with peers, and presenting their findings. This project has not only deepened students’ knowledge of Australia’s rich biodiversity but also encouraged them to think critically about sustainability and the role humans play in preserving our environments.
Seniors
Our Senior students have been exploring Human Rights and Australian Law as part of their inquiry unit. They have been learning about the right to be free and equal, and the important difference between equality and equity - and what these ideas look like in their own lives as students.
Throughout the unit, students have investigated why human rights are essential and explored where these rights originated. To deepen their learning, they were visited by a local detective who shared fascinating insights about how human rights connect to Australian law and everyday life. The detective also answered students’ thoughtful questions, helping them deepen their understanding of this important topic.
