Principal's Message

Term 4, Week 1
Welcome back to Term 4! I hope the holidays provided everyone with time to rest, reconnect and enjoy special moments with loved ones. It has been wonderful to see our students return with big smiles, ready to learn, grow and make the most of this final term together.
We finished Term 3 on such a joyful note with our Fun Run, which brought the whole school together for a day of laughter, colour and sunshine! There was plenty of excitement as Keena, Alex, Perri and I were well and truly slimed — a highlight that will be remembered for a long time. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of term and the sense of community that makes St Brigid’s so special.
With eleven weeks of school ahead, our focus is on finishing the year well: celebrating progress, nurturing connections, and cherishing the spirit that makes St Brigid’s such a vibrant and faith-filled community.
Crossing Safety Reminder
This week we experienced a very concerning incident when a car sped through the crossing while our crossing supervisor was on the road. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it’s an important reminder for all of us to stay alert and take extra care at all times.
Please remind your children to:
- Always wait until the crossing supervisor is on the road and has given the signal before stepping out.
- Walk (not run) across the road and stay within the crossing lines.
- Look both ways and be aware of their surroundings, even when the flags are out.
We also ask parents and carers to take care when driving or parking near the school. Please slow down, follow road signs, and avoid distractions such as phones when near the crossing area.
The safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority. Let’s continue working together to keep everyone safe on their way to and from school.

Keeping Our Community in Prayer
We hold in our hearts this week:
- 💙 Michelle Haller and her family, following the passing of her father after his courageous battle with cancer.
- 💜 The Fennessy family, after the loss of Kelly, who showed incredible strength and grace throughout her long illness.
May both families be surrounded by the love, comfort and peace of God, and know the care and support of our St Brigid’s community.
In Gratitude
Thank you, as always, for your continued support, kindness and partnership. Our St Brigid’s community continues to live out our motto — a small school with a big heart — through compassion, faith and care for one another.
Wishing everyone a wonderful start to Term 4 — one filled with learning, laughter and connection.
Warm regards,

Community Prayer
Loving God, As we begin this new term together, we pause to give thanks for the gift of our St Brigid’s community — for the joy of returning faces, the excitement of learning, and the warmth of belonging.
We pray for your guiding presence throughout these weeks ahead. Bless our students with curiosity and confidence, our staff with wisdom and strength, and our families with peace and togetherness.
We especially hold in our hearts Michelle Haller and her family, and the Fennessy family, in their time of loss and sorrow. May they feel your comfort, and be surrounded by the love and prayers of our school community.
May our days this term be filled with kindness, laughter and hope, and may everything we do reflect your light and love.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of several St Brigid’s students who represented Central Victoria at a major Futsal event in Queensland over the school holidays.
Congratulations to Orla Calcagno, Lila Gallagher, Skye Juric, Piper Van de Velde, and Patrick Ryan on their selection and participation in this exciting tournament. The students demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the event — wonderful ambassadors for our school and community.
A special congratulations to Orla Calcagno and Lila Gallagher, who have been invited to represent Australia U13 in Barcelona in 2026, and to Piper Van de Velde and Skye Juric, who have been selected to represent Australia U12 in China. What an incredible achievement and opportunity for these talented young athletes!
We commend all five students for their commitment and enthusiasm — a testament to their dedication and love of sport. A fantastic experience and a good time was had by all!
Arcare Visit – Faith in Action
This week, our Senior Social Justice Leaders had the wonderful opportunity to visit Arcare Aged Care in Gisborne. Together, we enjoyed activities, shared stories, and built meaningful connections with the residents.
It was a beautiful example of our students living out their Catholic faith through action — showing kindness, respect, and compassion to others. We look forward to continuing these visits and strengthening our connection with the Arcare community. A lovely time was had by all!
Our School Pilgrimage
Due to the extreme high winds that were forecast for today, we made the decision to postpone our Pilgrimage. We will advise of a new date early next week that will enable us to best enjoy this amazing experience together. Apologies to all those parents and family members who offered their time to support us today, we hope that you will still be able to join us on our rescheduled date.
