Weekend Recreational Activities

Kambala Girls Enjoy a Day of Sunshine, Kayaking, and Fun at Rose Bay

The Kambala girls made the most of Sydney’s beautiful spring weather with a fantastic recreational outing to Rose Bay Beach this weekend. The sun was shining and whilst there was a bit of wind on the water, nothing was stopping the girls from enjoying their outing on Sydney Harbour.

The group began their morning with kayaking at Rose Bay. With views of the Harbour Bridge, the girls worked together to paddle along the coastline. Some in single Kayaks and others working together in tandem there was lots of laughter along the way. After their time on the water, the girls cooled off with a refreshing swim, followed by some well-deserved downtime relaxing in the sunshine on the beach.

To top off a wonderful day, the group headed to Yo-Chi for some delicious frozen yoghurt — the perfect treat after an active morning.

It was a day filled with smiles, sunshine, and plenty of laughter. The perfect rec outing to start the term together. As the weather warms up the girls are very excited for more beach days, swimming activities and sunshine!

Saturday Sport

Touch and Waterpolo training have started and many of our boarders are excited to start the summer sports season. We are looking forward to fixtures starting over the next week.

  • Vey won her badminton game.
  • Victoria played well at tennis and is looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.
  • Touch was a tough game today, the girls didn’t win but enjoyed coming together as a team for the first time this term.

Events

Ascham Junior Boarders Social

On the first Friday of Term 4, our Year 7–10 boarders attended the Ascham School Boarders’ Social. It was a fantastic evening filled with music, dancing, and plenty of laughter as the girls mingled with boarders from other schools.

All those Just Dance sessions in the common room with Kayla over the winter weekends certainly paid off — the girls showed off some amazing moves to Timber and other crowd favourites! It was wonderful to see everyone having such a great time together.

Prep

Exam preparation has been the key focus in Prep this week. Years 7–10 have made an excellent start in the library, using the time productively to review content from throughout the year and complete practice papers. Our Year 11 and 12 students continue to complete their Prep in the Boarding House, with some also choosing to study at the school or Double Bay libraries to make the most of the resources available.
