Biz - E - Kidz Update

From Libby, Biz-E-Kidz Coordinator

New staffing updates

Hello families!

We have a few staffing updates to announce:

Our Educator Isaiah (fun fact - the 2014 NMPS School Captain and past Biz-E-Kid) has gone away to teach English in Vietnam.

We have hired El, who also used to come to NMPS and Biz-E-Kidz as a child(!) along with Aurora, who is a local artist.

Both are about to commence a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. We currently have Educators Jules and Will away on their primary school teaching placements.

Good luck guys!

We have spent the past couple of staff meetings and several leadership meetings taking a deep dive into the national framework for outside school hours care: “My Time, Our Place”. The following idea felt especially resonant with us, and we hope families see us enacting it:

Feeling valued, successful and accepted enables children and young people to tackle new things, express themselves, work through differences and take calculated risks. Relationships are the foundations for the construction of identity – ‘Who I am’, ‘How I belong’ and ‘What is my influence?’ p. 34

We are always seeking recycled materials - anything at all that we could use for craft, bring in to our Errol St building any time, or drop off with us when collecting your child/ren. Thank you!

Since the start of the Spring Holidays, we have been in our SumSmart period. Please ensure your child has a hat at Biz-E-kidz. See grade 6s Matthew and Neil’s clever hat design, using iris grass and coles paper bags! They learnt about what makes a hat sunsmart and designed accordingly, launching their small business with success.

On that note, below is our program plan for this week.

And finally, chat to Kit at Biz-E-Kidz Seniors to join the emerging band, Skull Crushers.

Or if you’re more of an audience member, you could get yourself a free ticket.

Until next time.
