Welcome back to Term 4!
As we step into Term 4, 2025, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary journey you and your children have travelled this year. The final term of school brings with it both the culmination of achievements and the anticipation of what lies ahead, and we do have a busy term ahead of us!
Upcoming School Events
This term we formally begin our 2026 Prep transition program through Story time activities, information sessions and transition mornings.
In week 4, we celebrate the student’s learning and achievements in the Arts learning areas with our bi-annual Art Show.
Our Prep students will participate in their first school excursion this term exploring the Melbourne Zoo, while our Year 3 students head off to camp in week 7. We finish the term off with our Prep – Year 6 Swimming Program in week 8 & 9.
We also look forward to our Whole School Transition Day on Tuesday 9th December when our Year 6 students head off to secondary school for the day, and all other students progress to their next year level to meet their 2026 class and teacher.
These are just a few of the big events planned for this term, however there will be many more to keep an eye out for! Please continue to review the Important Dates section in our newsletters and monitor Compass for specific information about school events.
Staffing Update
This term we welcome Skie Arnold to our NMPS teaching team. Skie has joined the Year 1 team and will be teaching 1D for the remainder of the year. We also welcome Leo Shi to our ES team. Leo will be working at our Errol Street Campus three days a week.
This week we farewell Molly Power as she begins her maternity leave. We wish Molly and her husband, Brock, all the best as they start this new chapter. We look forward to the arrival of their new addition later in the year. Eddie Alexander will replace Molly for the remainder of term 4, teaching 5D.
2026 Enrolments
As we continue the planning process for the 2026 school year, we would greatly appreciate if families could notify the school if your child/ren will not be returning to NMPS in 2026 as soon as possible.
Any current families that are yet to enrol 2026 Prep students are asked to do so as a priority as our 2026 Prep Transition has already begun and we would like all new Prep families to be involved in this program.
2026 Grade Placements
NMPS is such a large school and as such we are not able to accommodate parent requests for grade placements, friendship groups and/or teachers.
Our 2026 classes will be generated based on student needs from a social, academic, wellbeing and behavioural perspective. Teaching teams, Specialist staff, ES staff and Leadership review all classes to ensure the most appropriate placement of students.
A range of factors are considered based on some simple principles:
Staff also look for compatible learning partners, considering current friendship groups, and encourage the development of new friendships.
