What an incredible evening we had at our whole-school Art Show! From the moment the doors opened at 3:30 p.m., our school was transformed into a bustling gallery that would rival any professional exhibition space.
The turnout was absolutely phenomenal. Families poured through the doors and within minutes, and there was hardly room to move! The energy and excitement were palpable as parents, siblings, grandparents and friends navigated through the art boards to admire the spectacular displays.
With over 3,500 pieces of artwork on show, every display board was beautifully utilised. Each child had multiple pieces on display, showcasing the breadth of their artistic development throughout the year. We featured both individual masterpieces and wonderful collaborative works that demonstrated our students' ability to create together.
In a delightful twist, some teachers – including myself – even had pieces displayed amongst the student work, reminding us all that learning and creativity are lifelong pursuits!
The quality of work on display was truly outstanding. From intricate drawings and vibrant paintings to stunning sculptures and woven pieces, our students demonstrated remarkable skill, creativity and artistic vision. It's clear that the time and care invested in our arts programme is bearing beautiful fruit.
A Note About the Early Closure - I understand that the decision to close the Art Show early at 6:30 p.m. due to severe weather warnings caused disappointment for some families, particularly those who may not have seen the message in time or were unable to attend earlier. This decision was made with safety as my absolute priority, following severe weather warnings from both the Bureau of Meteorology and the Department of Education regarding very high winds.
This event would not have been possible without our exceptional art teachers. Thank you for nurturing our students' creativity and technical skills, and for producing such an amazing body of work.
A special acknowledgment must go to Rochelle Hunt, whose inspiration, meticulous organisation and tireless effort in setting up the exhibition made this wonderful event possible. Rochelle, your dedication to our students and the arts is truly appreciated.

"What a fantastic way to celebrate our children's creativity. We'll definitely be keeping this artwork on the fridge!"
"Can I buy a piece? They are well worth the money!."
