Principal's News

White smoke rose above the Vatican, signalling the announcement of our new Pope; Cardinal Robert Prevost. Pope Leo, born in Chicago but a resident of Peru, is known for his deep humility, strong commitment to social justice, and love for the people. His first words to the world were, “Peace be with you,” setting a tone of compassion and unity for his papacy. Let us keep Pope Leo XIV in our prayers as he takes on his new role. We pray that his leadership may guide us to grow in faith and allow people to walk together in hope and love.

Mother’s Day Celebration

We hope all our wonderful mums and mother figures had a joyful day yesterday celebrating their special role in our lives. Thank you to those who joined us for our Mother’s Day Breakfast and prayer service. It was wonderful to see so many families come together in celebration and reflection.

The prayer service was simple yet beautiful, creating a meaningful atmosphere for all who attended. A special thank you to our school choir, whose voices added a joyous touch to the morning. Your presence helped make the day memorable, and we are grateful for your continued support. And thank you to Sarah, who prepared the children and coordinated the event.

Walk Safely to School Day

Now in its 26th year, the annual campaign encourages all primary school children, their parents and carers to walk safely and regularly to school. Championed by the Pedestrian Council Australia, the initiative aims to raise awareness of the health, road safety, transport and environmental benefits that regular walking or alternative active transport (especially to and from school) can provide for the long term well-being of our children, not just on 16 May, but every day. Apart from the physical benefits, regular walking (or similar) also has a favourable impact on children's cognitive and academic performance.  We have participated in this initiative for many years and 2025 is no exception.  So grab your scooter, walking shoes or bikes and join in the fun!

Don’t Forget……

Student Attendance

We are committed to providing every student with the best opportunity to succeed—academically, socially, and emotionally. One of the most important foundations for this success is regular and punctual school attendance.

Children who attend school every day and arrive on time are more likely to develop strong learning habits, build lasting friendships, and feel connected to their school community. Arriving late, even by just a few minutes, can disrupt your child’s learning routine and cause them to miss important instructions or activities at the start of the day.

Here are a few key reminders:

  • Every school day counts. Missing just one day every two weeks adds up to nearly four full weeks of learning lost over a year.
  • Punctuality sets the tone. Being on time helps children settle into their day calmly and confidently.
  • Consistency builds confidence. Children thrive on routine. Regular attendance helps them feel secure and part of the class.

We understand that occasional absences due to illness or unforeseen circumstances are sometimes unavoidable. In these cases, please contact the office promptly to let us know. If you are experiencing difficulties with attendance or punctuality, we are here to support you.
