Year 7 Immunisations
The City of Hobart Council's immunisation team will be providing immunisations to Year 7 students at the College next week, on Friday 16 May.
Year 7 students will receive the following vaccines:
- Gardasil 9 Human papillomavirus (HPV) – one dose
Boostrix Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis (whooping cough) dTpa – one dose
This year the Department of Health (DoH) has introduced a new vaccine management system for the School Immunisation Program. Powered by 'Vitavo', this system will replace paper consent forms with a digital profile and online consent process. The portal can be accessed on a phone, tablet or computer.
Please access the Vitavo portal, create a digital profile and provide consent for your child by tomorrow, Friday 9 May, even if you choose not to vaccinate.
If you have any questions about the vaccinations, please contact the Department of Health at the following email: immunisation@health.tas.gov.au
Students who miss their vaccination can go to authorised pharmacies or attend a Public Clinic. This information can be found at this link: Immunisation Clinics
Adult Behaviour Policy
The Catholic Education Tasmania Adult Behaviour Policy sets out clear standards for the behaviour of adults including parents, carers and family members of students, and members of the wider College community.
All visitors to College premises or at College events, and those who come into contact with our community are required to conduct themselves in a calm and respectful manner. Violent, abusive or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated, whether this behaviour is physical, verbal or through written or electronic communications.
The Adult Behaviour Policy is available on the College website.
Bus Service Reminder
Thank you for your patience as we have implemented the new Roll Call bus management system on the College bus services. Parents will have noticed the benefits of Roll Call through real-time tracking of buses and parent notifications.
For the system to work most effectively, please remind students of the following:
Students must have their ID card with them when they catch the bus, and use it to tap onto and off the bus. A number of students have not been tapping on and off buses, which means that parents and staff cannot see when a student has used the bus. If a student has lost or broken their school ID card, a replacement card can be arranged by contacting the College Office. A replacement charge of $5 applies, which can be paid by cash or card.
Students must get on and off the bus at their designated stop. Student safety is paramount at Mount Carmel College. It is important that parents and staff know if a student has inadvertently caught the wrong bus or got off the bus at the wrong stop.
Thank you your continued assistance as we work together to make bus travel safe, efficient, and stress-free.
College Car Park
A reminder to all families that the front car park is closed from 8.00am to 9.00am and 2.30pm to 4.00pm.
For safety for our students, we request that students not to be dropped off and collected in between these times.
