Year 10

Work Experience

Term 2 sees many of our Year 10 students setting out on Work Experience.

We have several students returning to their primary schools to view education prospects as well as another student heading off to Bellarine Police Station. Please encourage your child to read the Year 10 TEAMS page posts as all work experience opportunities are posted there.

Visit to Deakin Uni

On Monday 26th May, all year 10 students will be attending a full day visit to Deakin University Waurn Ponds as part of their Pathways program. This visit will complement last year’s visit to The Gordon to explore different tertiary settings. An email will go home shortly and consent to attend the excursion will appear on XUNO soon.

White Card Training

We are very fortunate to have another day of White Card training on Friday 20th June with the CFMEU. For any student wishing to do work experience, Structured Workplace Learning or SBATs on construction sites, this qualification is essential. The cost for the full day of training is $90 and students will be issued a card (6 weeks after the course) and certificate of attainment. If your child is interested, please contact Lesa Allison in the office.

Year 11

This term all year 11 students will be attending a Pathways session to continue their pathway explorations. These will take place in class time with Careers staff and senior school staff.

Year 12

On Monday 12th May 75 Year 12s will be undertaking their Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training on the Curriculum Day.

This course will start at 9am in B Block and finish around 3pm. Please ensure your child has paid their $60 to the office. If you are unable to attend, please let Lesa Allison know as there is a waitlist.
