Premier’s Reading Challenge 2025
The Premier’s Reading Challenge is up and running again this year and will continue from now, finishing on Friday September 5th. The Challenge is a fun and engaging way to get children and their families involved with reading. It invites students from Prep – Grade 2 to read 30 books and students in Grades 3-6 to read 15 books. A combination of books from the Challenge list as well as a number of self-choice books can all contribute to the completion of the Challenge.
Students keep a reading log of books they have read as part of the Challenge through the Premier’s Reading Challenge website. Individual login details to the PRC portal will be distributed to all students by the end of this week.
All students are encouraged to join in the Challenge. It’s a great initiative to support and foster positive reading habits. For more information, please visit the Premier’s Reading Challenge website, speak to your child’s class teacher or Mrs Barnewall.

Compass Tips
- It would be helpful if all families would update their Compass password regularly. Users are locked out due to passwords expiring.
- Also, would parents please not add Attendance Notes when students are arriving after 9am or departing before 3.30pm. Staff members do not see the parent comments written on these notes so an email via Compass is a great way to convey any extra details. The kiosk at Reception is to be used to sign/in out as this marks the roll and we know exactly who is on-site in case of emergency.
Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Asthma / Allergy / Anaphylaxis Action Plans
If you indicated on your child’s enrolment form that they experience asthma, allergic reaction or anaphylaxis, or they have been diagnosed since then, government legislation requires you to provide us with a current Action Plan (see examples below). Please visit your medical practitioner for an up to date Action Plan and send along to the office.
http://www.allergy.org.au/health-professionals/ascia-plans-action-and-treatment
Please ensure your child has their medication and any other device (eg. spacer) with them to better manage their symptoms. If your medical practitioner has informed you that your child has grown out of their condition, they will need to provide a letter, on the Medical Practice letterhead, to the school stating such.
Thank you for your cooperation.
