Principal Address

Dear Families,
My sincere thanks to everyone who attended our Mother’s Day Chapel this morning, it was great to have all of you with us to celebrate. Thanks to Miss Thomas and our Year 6’s for hosting such a fun, honouring and engaging Chapel.
We take a special moment to honour and celebrate the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures within our HPCS community. We are incredibly thankful for their love, support, and the many quiet sacrifices they make each day. From early morning routines to late night conversations, from gentle guidance to unwavering encouragement, a mother’s love helps shape who we are and who we become.
I loved what Mrs Davila said this morning in our Chapel, that each of our Mums are uniquely different. I want to encourage all of our Mums this week. GOD has placed you in your family, given you the children that you have, this is not a coincidence but it is by divine appointment. You are the perfect Mum for your children, God doesn’t make mistakes.
I do want to also say that for those of you who, for a myriad of reasons, might find Sunday a tough day, my prayers and thoughts are with you.
Thanks also to Mrs Coorey, ably assisted by Mrs Godoy, for running such an excellent stall on Thursday. It may look easy, but I know there was a huge amount of work involved; my sincere thanks and appreciation.
As we celebrate this special day, a heartfelt thank you to all the women who lead, nurture, and love so generously. You are a blessing to your families, to our school, and to our wider community.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Vale Loata Petrunic
Many of you who have been part of our community for some time will remember the Petrunic family. Isabella, a former student and our School Vice Captain in 2022, is well known to many of us. I am deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of her mum, Loata, last week.
I have very fond memories of Loata, she was a warm and generous person, and always had a smile. She regularly volunteered at school events and was a much valued member of our community. Her presence will be deeply missed. We extend our heartfelt prayers to her husband Robert and her children; Michael and Isabella and also to their Church community at Embassy Church in Belmore.
