This morning Year 10 students embarked on an eye-opening journey at the Careers Expo, held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Led by Mrs Collins, our Coordinator of Pathways and Work Experience, students explored a vast array of career opportunities, discovering how their passions and interests could lead to exciting futures in industries such as aviation and beyond.
“It was great to see students actively engaged, asking questions and collecting information along with the many giveaways offered,’’ Mrs Collins said.
The Careers Expo provided invaluable insight into the connection between academic studies and real-world careers, encouraging students to think critically about their subject selections and future aspirations. As our Year 10, 11, and 12 students prepare for their upcoming exams at the end of May and early June, this experience serves as a timely reminder that their hard work today lays the foundation for their career paths tomorrow.
By engaging with professionals and learning about industry trends, students have gained a deeper understanding of how their strengths and interests align with different fields. Whether it’s aviation, engineering, healthcare, or creative arts, the event highlighted the importance of making informed decisions about education and career progression.
As exam season approaches, we encourage all students to reflect on the insights gained at the Expo and consider how their studies contribute to their future ambitions. Success in exams is not just about grades—it’s about shaping opportunities for personal growth and career development.
Best of luck to all Year 10–12 students in their upcoming exams—your future is bright, and the choices you make now will help pave the way forward!
Today’s Expo visit came at a great time as we have begun the conversation in Pathways about choosing courses for next year. Parents are invited to attend the Year 10 Information Night to be held on 9 June at 6:00pm along with their son or daughter to hear more about the process and ask any questions they might have. Year 10s will soon be provided with an information package that steps out the various pathways available and the many courses on offer next year in Year 11. In the final week of this term our Year 10s also venture out into the world of work as they participate in our compulsory Work Experience program. Students have been working hard to secure placements, complete their safety certificate and prepare for this event.
