Gandhi House
It has been a fantastic start to Term 2 for Gandhi House, with strong performances at both the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival and the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival. A huge congratulations to all our runners - your enthusiasm, determination and team spirit were on full display.
An extra congratulations to all Gandhi students who received a medal or trophy on the day for their outstanding efforts as champion athletes or recipients of the Spirit Award. Week 2 also saw the highly anticipated Interhouse Performing Arts Festival take centre stage. Gandhi wowed the crowd with an incredibly choreographed construction-themed dance, earning us second place in the Dance category. Our Drama improvisation teams also delivered brilliant and energetic performances, showing off our House’s talent and quick thinking. The time and effort that both groups put into preparations for the night was outstanding and I want to thank all students involved for their incredible passion and dedication. The standard of performances continues to rise each year, and each one was so impressive.
Looking ahead, excitement is building for House Week in Week 4! It is going to be a week full of fun activities, friendly competition and lots of House pride. Get ready to show your spirit and support Gandhi House in the three events of Pickleball, a House Quiz and Colouring In competition.
Let’s keep the energy going and make sure we have great participation during House Week. Go Gandhi!

Lincoln House
It has been an incredible start to Term Two as we celebrated St George’s Day, competed in the Interhouse Cross Country and enjoyed a night of Drama and Dance at the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival. During our St George’s Day celebrations this year, Henry Beck, a Year 12 Lincoln student, was awarded the Spirit of St George’s Award for Senior students. Henry has been an active participant in both school and Lincoln House activities throughout his time at St George’s and is a member of Lincoln House that many of our students can look to for support and as a positive role model. Congratulations Henry!
On Tuesday, Lincoln was thrilled to win the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival. The participation across all year groups was incredible and was a key factor in our win. I would like to congratulate all the students who achieved individual awards on the day:
Champion: Oscar Vis, Lenny Krebs, Leo Busch. Runner up: Mikayla Di Giuseppe, Sebastian Thompson-Kennedy, Lily Robertson, Telisha Mahoney, Henry Beck,
Sportsmanship: Sulaiman Barzangi
The week ended with the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival, where we placed second in Drama and third in Dance. Our Drama team has many Junior school students and to get up on stage and perform Improv – for the first time – in front of a crowd of 300 is a huge achievement. I am so proud of the students who volunteered for our Drama team.
I would like to thank our Senior Students for joining in rehearsals and coaching and supporting the younger students as part of the team. This is what makes St George’s such a special school. While we didn’t take the win in the Dance competition, it was clearly one of - if not THE best dance that Lincoln has ever performed. The commitment to practice and to the team is exactly what we strive to foster here in Lincoln House. I would like to thank Sophia Warren – Lincoln House Captain – for organising and choreographing the dance, as well as running practice at least twice a week for the last few months.

Mandela House
Welcome back to Term Two! I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday with family and friends. It is hard to believe we’re already at the end of Week 3, and so much has already happened.
In Week 2, we kicked things off with the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival. Mandela students gave it their all, showing determination, effort, and great House spirit. A huge congratulations to our standout performers:
- Owen Bishop – Year 8 Boys Champion
- Sasha Warren – Year 9 Girls Champion
- Scarlett Wallace – Year 10 Girls Champion
Mandela finished second overall, which is a fantastic achievement. Well done to every student who competed and supported others throughout the day – your energy and encouragement truly made a difference.
At the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival (IPAF) last Friday, our Drama and Dance teams took to the stage all that they had been working so incredibly hard on since Term One. Giving up lunch breaks and staying after school to prepare paid off, with Mandela taking out all three major categories and winning the night overall!
Thank you to every student involved – whether you performed, helped behind the scenes, or supported your team. Your hard work, creativity, and commitment did not go unnoticed, and you represented Mandela with pride.
Looking ahead, next week is House Week, and it promises to be full of fun and friendly competition. Events include Pickleball, the House Quiz, and a Colouring-In Competition. We encourage all Mandela students to get involved, show their spirit, and help bring home another win for the House!
Let’s keep the momentum going – go Mandela!
