Years F & 1

Last Friday we spent the day launching our school values and talking about kindness for Do it for Dolly Day. We spoke about what each of the values looks like and different ways we can show them. We even spoke about how we don’t just show these at school but out in the community too. They did a wonderful job and shared so many wonderful insights to the values and how we show kindness.
The little legends are starting to put into practice what they are learning in sounds write and applying it to their writing. The foundation students have been focusing on writing sentences including a who, what doing and been expanding them by adding a where. The year 1s have been focusing on using subordinating conjunctions before and after to finish a sentence stem. All students have been thinking of well put together sentences.
In science this week we got messy exploring cooked and uncooked spaghetti. Students explored what cooked spaghetti felt like and the different movements you can complete with it like bending and twisting. They had a go at making a picture using the cooker spaghetti after listening to a poem about spaghetti. Afterwards students used uncooked spaghetti and marshmallows to create a tower. There was some interesting ideas of towers.
We were also lucky on Wednesday to have the 4/6s join us where they participated in some of our favourite dances. The F/1s loved sharing that with the big kids.
