YEAR 11 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 4

Mobile Phone Use

Viewing mobile phones as tools rather than toys is essential, especially for our students. When mobile phones accompany students into their bedrooms, they can negatively impact sleep and cause distractions. Encouraging your child to keep their phone out of the bedroom can help improve their focus and overall well-being, leading to academic success.

Ushers for Open Evening

Students interested in ushering at the College’s Open Evening must complete the expression of interest form emailed on Wednesday by Miss McBryde.

Leadership Opportunities

We will soon commence applications for leadership positions for Year 12. We encourage parents and students to start having conversations about leadership and consider how they have demonstrated leadership qualities over the past years at St Mary's. I would like to pose the following questions for students to think about and have discussions with family members so when it comes time to put applications together, prior knowledge can be drawn upon:

  1. What does leadership mean to you?
  2. What makes a great leader?
  3. Reflect on leaders, coaches or teachers who have inspired or challenged you? What did you like or not like about being led by them?
