YEAR 8
Building Strong Connections
YEAR 8
Building Strong Connections
Head of Year 8
A reminder that the Year 8 Camp is coming up in Week 7. Camp tent groups are currently being formed and must be finalised by the end of Week 4. Students who have nominated that they own a tent must bring it to school on Tuesday of Week 5 (20 May), as we will be practising setting up the tents in their groups on this day. I will also remind students at our next Community Pastoral Group (PG) and place a notice in the daily notices to remind them.
As outlined in the parent permission slip, all students are required to bring a snorkeling mask and goggles to camp. Please also note that students are expected to pack all their items into their school backpacks.
This term, Year 8 continues building connections, focusing on strengthening peer relationships within the St Mary’s community. Through the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program, students will explore how to navigate minor conflicts, understand the difference between rude and mean behaviour, and know when to seek help from a trusted adult. Two incursions will support this:
Parents can also access helpful articles on friendships through the School TV resource on the Parent Portal. Please feel free to contact your child’s Pastoral Mentor or myself with any questions or concerns.
Term 2 Assessment Planners can now be downloaded via the College Website, MyCE App or Parent Portal. This is a critically important resource that will assist with setting students up for success in Term 2.
The school fees and levies for Term 2 were emailed to all account holders in Week 3, from Wednesday, 7 May.
Full payment is due by Wednesday, 21 May. If you are unable to pay in full by the due date, please contact the Accounts Team to arrange an approved payment plan with the College.
