Swimming Carnival - Thursday November 2

The 2023 Swimming Carnival will take place at Des Renford Aquatic Centre on Thursday November 2 from 9.30 am to 2.00pm (approx). Children from Year Two to Year Six will be entered into the indoor competitive carnival. Year One students who will be the correct competitive age (8yrs) and who are placed in the highest swimming group by the instructors will be entered into timed events at the carnival.

The remaining students in Year 2 (who do not wish to compete in the competitive carnival), Year 1 and all of Kindergarten will have the opportunity to participate in novelty events in the “Dome Pool” at Des Renford. A section of this pool has been hired from 12-1.30pm for our use.

On the day, children will need to wear their swimming costume under their sports uniform. They may wear appropriate t-shirts, ribbons, socks etc in the colour of their sports house. No spray on hair colour is to be worn. Recess and lunch should be brought from home along with sufficient drinks for the day.

This is the first year that we will be taking entries via the Google Form so we ask that you please read the information and only complete the sections relevant to your child. Parent helpers are required on the day so please indicate your availability on the google form.

Student Spotlight

Congratulations to Bella in Year 6 who competed at NSW junior state swimming trials last weekend. To make qualifying times is an achievement in itself as the times were tough, but Bella placed 13th in NSW for 200m breaststroke and 16th in NSW for the 50m breaststroke. Her medley relay team placed 7th and her freestyle relay team placed 8th. Bella, we are so super proud of you.
