Saint John the Evangelist is one of our patron Saints. St. John the Evangelist is one of the most important figures in the Catholic faith. He was one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus, and his gospel is one of the four canonical gospels that are included in the New Testament. St. John the Evangelist is frequently depicted in religious art alongside an eagle. In the Book of Ezekiel, the prophet describes a vision of God’s chariot with four living creatures possessing the faces of a human, a lion, an ox, and an eagle, which is often associated with the four evangelists. The eagle represents what comes from above, and John’s gospel focuses on Jesus as the incarnation of the divine Word. His day is December 27th.
