Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop: Student will be reflecting on how characterization can be used to improve stories that we read and write. We will be reflecting on some of the techniques Emily Rodda used to ‘hook’ us into the story and how we can apply those into our books.

Christian Studies: How do Christians represent the Trinity and use it in their daily lives. Student will be creating artwork with the key aspects of the Trinity and exploring the apostles creed and what it means for Christians.

Unit of Inquiry: This week, we are preparing for our Celebration of Learning (Tuesday 16th September @ 6pm). Students will be sharing with you their learning over the past term. We will also reflecting on our ‘How we Organise Ourselves’ unit of Inquiry and what we learnt about trade and transportation of Australia’s natural and managed resources.

Mathematics: We are inquiring into linking our understanding of decimals with fractions and how they are connected. We will be using real world examples and hands – on materials to do this in a meaningful way.

Health: In Week 9 and 10, we will be hosting an incursion from The Chat Academy to support our growth and development classes. There will be 2 sessions for Year 4s only. We have had a number of requests from parents of Year 4s and acknowledge that the sessions are age-appropriate and aim to help students develop a better understanding of their bodies. You may find that your child comes home with questions or thoughts to share following these lessons.

Reminders and information:

Celebration of Learning: This term the year 3 & 4 students will be holding their celebration of learning on Tuesday 16th September, beginning at 6pm with a presentation. We look forward to you joining us for this and sharing in your child's learning.

TO BRING: Please bring in a resource that you will discuss with your child during our celebration of learning. Students will share their understanding of where this product has come from and how it has transported?

Special Person’s Afternoon (SPA): By now, your child/ren would have received an invitation to send to their special person to invite them to our event on Friday 19th September. In the back, there is a parent permission slip that gives permission for your child to leave with their special person.
