It has been a very busy time in the new Art Room this term.
The very creative and enthusiastic Foundation students have been working very hard exploring collage, colour, printing and animation; the Sunflower paintings by Van Gogh and creating and painting their very own ceramics!
The wonderfully artistic Year 1/2 students began the term looking at primary and secondary colours, experimenting with patterns, lines, colours with paper weaving, and pattern making. To finish the term students are making paper maquettes of large-scale sculptures in the spirt of German Australian Sculpture Inge King and are creating their own drawings of French Impressionist Claude Monet’s waterlily gardens.
The highly imaginative Year 3/4 student began the term creating colourful and whimsical Monter mash up drawings and developed their weaving skills by creating colourful wool weavings on paper plate looms. Currently they have are exploring paintings from the French Fauvist movement and are working on their own textural and unexpected coloured landscapes.
The inventive and inspired Year 5/6 have been learning about the '7 Art Elements' and building their technical drawing skills this term. They have completed native Australian animal weaving and are currently exploring Pop Art through creating work inspired by artist Roy Lichtenstein that will be animate once completed.
