Book Week 2025

We had a fabulous Friday in Week 5 with the Book Week Parade at South Plympton Campus. Students and teachers went the extra mile in wearing very creative, fun costumes.

A huge thank you to everyone who put in the effort to make this year's parade an impressive one! Thank you to all the parents who joined us in celebrating the parade with the students!

Enjoy this selection of photos capturing the fun and excitement of the parade! 🥰

Author and Illustrator Mandy Foot visit

Junior School Students had a fantastic time meeting the author and illustrator Mandy Foot during this year's Book Week. Mandy's storytelling and drawing skills truly inspired students.

Many students were familiar with Mandy's illustrations in the books they had previously read. Mandy also conducted a small workshop with the kids on illustrating and drawing skills. With Mandy Foot's visit, students were left with an even greater passion for reading books and novels.

Foundation Farm Barn Excursion 🐏

Our two Foundation classes recently enjoyed a wonderful excursion to the Hahndorf Farm Barn, where they engaged in various hands-on animal experiences. Students had the opportunity to bottle-feed lambs, observe chicks and hold guinea pigs. A highlight for many was milking Daisy the cow and seeing three fascinating reptiles — a blue tongue lizard, a frilled-neck lizard and a python.

The children also enjoyed patting and feeding carrots to various friendly animals, including goats, deer, donkeys, horses, cows, sheep, and even emus and ostriches! This excursion is linked to our science unit, which explores the external features of animals. It was a joyful, educational day full of new experiences, helping us learn more about the incredible creatures God has made.

This is what our students said about their experience at the farm 😊🗯️

Harvey: My favourite part was feeding the goats!

Chloe: I tried milking a cow for the first time, and it felt weird.

Emma: I learnt how to safely feed guinea pigs by holding my hand out flat.

Cianne: I loved seeing the black rabbit, and I fed a baby lamb milk.

Jeremiah: I loved feeding and touching the goats and sheep.

Oliver: I fed the rabbit, guinea pigs and pony some carrots. The carrots made me feel hungry!

OSHC highlight

In OSHC, we have been learning the importance of sustainable practices! This fortnight, we created our own visual guides, helping us to understand which items belong in which bin. The children have done an outstanding job, turning our boring compost bin into an informative, decorated container for food scraps.
