2025 CYCLE 3: BIG IDEA 2 LEARNING ITINERARY

What are we learning in the Senior School?

The School-Wide Key Understanding we are exploring this term is;

Sharing stories helps us learn and connect to ourselves, people and places. 

Our second Big Idea linked to this understanding is…                  

We can share stories in a variety of ways

 

We expect this portion of our Inquiry to last approximately three weeks.

 

We have broken down this Big Idea into four key stages. These stages are;

  • Explore an extended range of storytelling strategies 
  • Trial a range of storytelling strategies 
  • Select and use an appropriate storytelling strategy to communicate to a diverse audience
  • Use of criteria to support analysis and evaluation of a storytelling strategy

 

 

The Social and Emotional Wellbeing concept that we will explore through this Big Idea is Positive Gender Relations.

To enhance this portion of our Inquiry, in English, we will explore these texts;

  1. Echoes of Earth -  Joel McKerrow - (Slam Poetry) 
  2. Moth - Bangarra (Dance Performance) 
  3. ICUICRY - Jacob Diamond  (Song) 

 

 

The English concepts that we will explore through these texts are;

  1. Rhythm & Rhyme 
  2. Storytellers Voice

 

The Maths concepts that we will explore through this Big Idea are;

  1. Probability 
  2. Fractions
  3. Time
