Production 2025 - Twelfth Night

On the 24th and 25th of October, the students of Collingwood College put on William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Students from Grade 5 to Year 10 came together after 6 months of rehearsal to show their talents on and backstage. After an eventful year full of changes and surprises, we were so happy to share our work with you.

The cast and crew of Twelfth Night wants to thank all of the parents and teachers who showed their support during the production of the show. So much time and effort was put into this show and we are all very proud of the result. We’d like to give a special thanks to Ella Smith and Jean Twomey, two amazing humans and Collingwood College graduates who have graciously volunteered their time to come back and pass on their knowledge and skill.

These wonderful productions help to connect us to our peers, creating a safe and harmonious community within the walls of the theatre. Although the process had its ups and downs we enjoyed it all the same! We all hope you thoroughly enjoyed yourselves and that you’ll come back next year to see us in our new production!

China Trip 2025

From the Great Wall to Disneyland: Our Unforgettable China Journey

This year, our 2025 China Leadership Program resumed for the first time since 2019.Our entourage included eight excited students, three teachers and a lucky VIP primary student as well. We all embarked on an unforgettable journey across China, visiting five incredible cities — Beijing, Xi’an, Suzhou, Kunshan, and Shanghai. Each stop offered us a unique glimpse into China’s rich history, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. As prepared as we were for this trip, the beauty of this vast country certainly impressed and astonished us no end.

In Beijing, we explored world-famous landmarks such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the Summer Palace. We also wandered through the city’s traditional hutongs, where we caught a glimpse of old Beijing life and savored authentic Peking duck. The historical sites we visited were unbelievably awe inspiring and we felt ourselves transported back in time where opulence and tradition were of the highest order. The way the magnificence of these times and buildings were so beautifully maintained and preserved is a testament to the respect and importance with which the Chinese regard their ancestors’ endeavors and accomplishments.

Next, we travelled to Xi’an by bullet train, where we stood face to face with the legendary Terracotta Warriors. Each warrior a fascinating piece as they were all sculpted with their own individual faces, definitely a time-consuming task, but one which shows great honour and respect for each individual soldier in the Emperor’s army. We also visited the Stele Forest Museum, where we were amazed by the ancient calligraphy that was on display. The students enjoyed the local Biang Biang noodles they devoured and which quickly became a group favorite!

Our journey then took us to Suzhou, where we strolled along Pingjiang Road and admired the beauty of classical Chinese gardens. In both Suzhou and Kunshan, students experienced life with a local host family, made Chinese friends, and even joined middle school classes, gaining first-hand insight into Chinese education and culture. In Kunshan, we were enchanted by the area’s ancient towns and natural scenery, enjoying a quieter, more traditional side of China. Our students were very happy with the level of care and attention, as well as how welcoming the host families were to them. Truly memorable experiences and unforgettable adventures,

Finally, our overseas journey ended in the vibrant city of Shanghai, where we attended inspiring workshops at the Shanghai Theatre Arts School. Here, they learnt calligraphy, art, vocal music, movement, and acting. A very creative school and one which provided many exciting moments for our captivated students. To finish off, one of the highlights for our students was the wonderful time we spent at the magical Shanghai Disneyland, truly a highlight for our students. What a way to finish the amazing experiences that this trip provided for our fortunate students. We celebrated our journey together constantly throughout the two and a half weeks that we were there. Every student felt so privileged to have been a part of this most exciting and wonderful adventure.

Year 12 Graduation at Wurun International Students

This year, we have 16 wonderful Year 12 international students who are graduating from Wurun Senior Campus.🦋

It feels like only yesterday that we welcomed them at the airport, helped them settle into their homestays, and watched them start their first day at Collingwood College. Time truly flies—over the past few  years, they have grown and transformed into confident, respectful, and mature young men and women.🌻

Most of them have been exemplary students—hard-working, responsible, and kind-hearted. We believe that their diligence and commitment to their studies will be rewarded in their VCE results and beyond. It has been a real pleasure to work with them and to witness their journey of learning, growing, and achieving.

As they embark on the next exciting chapter of their lives, we wish them every success in their future endeavours. Congratulations, graduates.🎉

Our International Support Team would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the teachers and staff who have supported, inspired, and cared for these students during their time with us. Your guidance has made their study journey memorable and meaningful. On behalf of their parents and families, thank you for everything you have done to help these students feel at home and to achieve their dreams. 🌹

Multicultural Youth Leadership Conference (MYLC)

On 29 October 2025, eighteen students and staff from Collingwood College attended the annual Multicultural Youth Leadership Conference (MYLC). Among them were staff members Badria, Felicia and Hassen. The conference brought together young people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds across Victoria, with a focus on leadership, identity and inclusive voices. Our group immersed themselves in peer-led discussions and interactive activities designed to empower, connect and inspire. The atmosphere in the room was energised and positive, our students not only participated with intention, but also had fun: they danced together, laughed, celebrated their experiences and formed meaningful connections beyond the formal sessions. The strong turnout of eighteen attendees underscores our school’s commitment to leadership, diversity and full participation. By attending the conference as both staff and students, we demonstrate that leadership and cultural celebration are shared responsibilities.Looking ahead, we anticipate the insights and energy from the conference will translate into action whether through peer-led workshops, cultural-awareness events or mentoring initiatives. We encourage all participants to share their stories and continue helping build an even more inclusive, vibrant school culture.Congratulations to everyone who attended your enthusiasm, engagement and spirit truly shine.

Nevertheless, the ongoing support of our families ensures that our school can offer the best possible education and support for our students.

We want to thank you for all your support, whether that’s through fundraising or volunteering your time. This has made a huge difference to our school and the programs we can offer. Within our school, this support has allowed us to upgrade teaching and learning facilities in specific learning areas, for example, our general classrooms, media laboratories, camps program, and music department.
