Year 12 Survey
Last week, I explained that I had sent out a survey to Year 12 families to collect feedback on the College. It is really important that we hear your views so we can reinforce what we are doing well and identify areas where we can improve. This is how we get better.
As of Thursday this week, I have received 14 responses from a possible 53 Year 12 families, which is a very low response rate. If you haven’t already, could you please take 15 minutes or so to complete the survey?
Youth Leadership Summit
Our Year 11 student counsellors attended the Youth Leadership Summit in Bunbury this week with Patrick Swallow and enjoyed the opportunity to connect with other students and further develop their leadership skills.
I have been really impressed with our Student Council group this year, led by Maggie Kilrain and Ethan Cook. They are active in representing the student body at weekly administration meetings and consistently demonstrate a high level of teamwork and leadership.
Harvey Community Radio
Steve Adams (Sheep Farm Training Officer) and I were interviewed by Harvey Community Radio earlier this week. One of the things we spoke about was how much we enjoy being part of the College community and how much we enjoy seeing students thrive in the learning environment. We agreed that it is always terrific to see students discover a particular interest or flair in one of the many areas of the College and then go on to excel in that field.
2026 Students
I have previously mentioned that we have completed our prospective student interviews for entry in 2026, and the final round of offers has now been sent out.
Our Year 10 and 11 intake for 2026 is full, and at present, we have no boarding spaces available. Typically, we lose a handful of students at the end of Year 11 to apprenticeships, and this will lead to a reduction in the number of Year 12s next year compared to our current Year 11 numbers.

As your child prepares to celebrate the end of school, you may be feeling concerned about their safety - especially when it comes to driving, being a passenger, or situations involving alcohol and other drugs.
This session supports parents and carers in having open, effective conversations with their children about staying safe, both on the road and around alcohol and other drugs, during this important time.
Outcomes |
Stay informed: Explore current information on road safety and alcohol and other drugs, relevant to school leavers. |
Support safer choices: Discover how we can help young people make informed and safer choices. |
Build protective strategies: Explore practical ways to help young people care for themselves and their friends. |
Understand the law: Get clear on legal issues like secondary supply and P plate restrictions, and how to guide your child safely through Leavers. |
Have a great weekend
